Well, there has been a slight back.

Today i was knitting working on my sweater, i was just minding my own business just knitting away, and then...
           SNAP!

I broke my knitting needle. Apparently my knitting was a little to intense for it to handle, given they where cheap plastic ones, but they where the only ones i could find in the right size.

But not to worry i went out and bought a new pair of knitting needle,
and my knitting is coming along nicely.

As i was taking pictures of my knitting today, Lucy just had to come and see what i was doing and get right in my face and make sure that i pay attention to her.

Summer!

Ah summer,  last month was so hot! But this week and last week have been so nice, the monsoon is finally here and it is so nice and cool and cloudy. And this is when i truly start to love summer. This morning was so beautiful, i had to go out and take pictures.

This is little rue, we named him little rue because we have another older rooster and he looks the same but he is a lot bigger,he is just rue  so this one is little rue.

The other rooster would always pick on little rue so he jumped the fences of the chicken yard with his girl and now they roam the yard.

The Robin, we have so many in our yard, and i love robins, my moms name is even Robyn.

                                            Lavender, it smells so good.

My cat Tiger, yes he is very fat but very lovable, must of the time. He always seem to show up when I am taking pictures, i think he like his picture taken.

Happy Late Independence Day!

The 4th of July is already here and gone!!
I hope everyone had a great 4th of July. I had a good 4th of July.
I love independence day, its all about the freedom that created the best nation on earth!  I love the freedom and America patriotism that is in the air. And we remembered that even though times are hard and America is not at it full potential we are still PROUD TO BE AN AMERICA!
I also love how the whole family gets together and we have a big BBQ and fireworks!!! But this no fireworks:(. There is a ban on fireworks this year because of all the fires.
I wonder if the founding fathers ever thought that America would be the way it is today, I wonder if they know the significance of what they started that July 4th 1776.

This year I wanted to make a fun 4th of July dessert. So of course I turned to Pinterest and I found a cute recipe for ho ho firecrackers. I could not find ho ho so i used Swiss Rolls.

What you need:
 Swiss Rolls
Frosting
Shooting stars decorating stuff.

It says July 4,i could not get a good picture of it.

I love them, they are so cute!!!

My First Sweater!

This is the summer that i am finally going to knit a sweater!
I have talked so much about how i want to make one, but i have never got around to making it. Until now, today is the day that i finally start making  my sweater!

This is the sweater i am making. I bought the seamless boatneck sweater from Knitpicks.com. I really like it and it seems easy enough for my first time, well at least hope so.

The yarn i bought is 100% Acrylic. Acrylic is not my favorite kind of yarn, but it is inexpressive and i am knitting on a budget. It is also easy to knit and its washable.

I have finally started and so far so good! I am on round 2 of 84 + the neck and arms. YEAH!

DE BEQUE

Operators have shut-in the wells so they can no longer produce oil and gas. At least 50 residents have been asked to leave their homes. The evacuation area includes south of S 1/2 Road. The fire was sparked by a lightning strike Wednesday afternoon west of 45.5 Road and east of I-70.

This is what i see from my house,
I live in Grand Junction which is about 45 minutes from De Beque, and this morning the whole valley was filled with smoke, you could smell the smoke.

I only mentioned a few of the many fires  in Colorado and there are many more across the country.  I ask that you would join with me in prayer for all the people affected by all these fires and to pray for rain! It is so dry this year we need lots of rain.

This June 5-8 i got to be a camp counselor at Camp Cedaredge with a great group of kids from my church. I was co-counselor with Naomi who is a really good friend.  We had so much fun!!! this was my first year being a counselor and i loved every minute of it, even though we had cold showers, really uncomfortable beds, and a very busy week we never seemed to get a break, it was so fun and i would do it again in a heart beat.

There where 8 girls in are room all of them were 5th or 6th graders. We bought them all matching bright green bandannas, they were a huge hit.

The theme this year was Transformed, so we decorated are room with Caterpillar and butterflies.

we made each girl a butterfly with her name on it and put them all on the door.

Each year they divided the whole camp into four teams: Blue, Green, Red, and Yellow. This year are whole church group and another group was on the blue team. And Blue team kicked butt, we got CAMP CHAMPS!! Really all you get is some ice cream, a t-shirt and bragging rights!!
